This is intended for members and visitors. We hope members will check out dates and other useful information, and that visitors to the website will be inspired to come along to a Wyong Writers. Learn to improve your writing

  • Meet other interesting people

  • Share your writing with others

  • Learn more about getting published

All this – and more – within the supportive environment of a friendly group of like-minded writers on the Central Coast.

People of all ages who are interested in writing poems, short stories, novels or their own life story are welcome. You can expect encouragement and support. You’ll pick up practical writing tips and have fun along the way.

Monthly Meetings

These are the main Wyong Writers meetings. These are always on a Saturday, and are open to members, visitors and new members. Details on both the meetings and programme pages.

Smaller critiquing groups

These meetings take place in addition to our main monthly meetings. They are only open to members. We currently have two separate groups, both of which are full–but exciting news–we have a new one just started in January 2024. These are specifically in order to critique each other’s work and are more close-knit, informal gatherings than our monthly meetings. You may bring along any piece of writing you wish.

  • that Great Aussie novel you are writing
  • the short story you want to enter into a competition
  • your poetry (for those poets amongst us)
  • or any other piece of writing you want to improve
