Meetings

We meet at The Woodbury Park Community Centre, 1, Woolmers Crescent — off Woodbury park Drive, Mardi

Our meetings always start at 1.30 pm.

Unless there is a conflict because of either Australia Day, Easter or ANZAC day they are always on the 4th Saturday of the month — (note: not the last Saturday because there are sometimes 5 Saturdays in a month). During 2024 the January meeting took place on the 3rd Saturday (20th). 

Check out the programme tab for what is in store during 2024.  We invite new writers to join us. Guests are always welcome.

Monday afternoon Scribblers meet in order to give more in depth critiquing to each other. There is now a second Scribblers group running and a third one about to start.

We also hold competitions to encourage writing and we publish anthologies of members’ work. Our next anthology of tales, told to a travelling caravan club, will be produced early in 2024.  In 2023 our anthology was one of First Fleet stories and was produced mid year. In May of 2022 we produced “For Better for Worse”, a collection of short stories about one wedding.  During 2020 and 2021 we felt the COVID lockdowns made it difficult to produce a physical book. In November 2019 we published “Community and Belonging” – a collection of short stories set of the Central Coast for which we gratefully received a council grant and it sold in various outlets.  December 2018 saw the production of “Holidays”. We have since produced an anthology of wedding stories,(2022) First Fleet stories (2023) and most recently (2024)  one called Canterbury Tales.  Every member receives a quarterly magazine “Writers Voice” from the NSW Fellowship of Australian Writers with news of interest to writers and national competition details.
